“In those days
and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and
Jerusalem, I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of
Jehoshaphat. There I will put them on trial for what they did to my
inheritance, my people Israel, because they scattered my people among the
nations and divided up my land.”
Since Jeremiah 30:11 tells all the nations among which the
Israelites have been scattered will be completely destroyed during the Great
Tribulation, Joel’s prophecy will likely be fulfilled at that time and
destruction will be the penalty for scattering His people and dividing His
land.
But at the end
of the age, which millions of Christians including myself believe to be now,
God has promised to destroy all the nations except Israel. Therefore the
world can no longer be viewed as this nation or that one being judged as needed.
Now there are but three groups of people on earth; the Church, who will be
delivered from the end times judgment (1 Thes. 1:10, Rev. 3:10), Israel, who
will be preserved through them, and the nations of the world, who will be
destroyed (Jere. 30:11).
